Flights to Prague

Travel with Flighys to Prague, and I was hooked. The old streets, the charm, the vibe it got to me. I’ve been back three times, and I’m already planning trip number four.

London City

Early Morning Magic at Prague Castle

I'm not a morning person, but jet lag woke me up at 5:30 AM. Instead of scrolling in bed, I headed to Prague Castle and it turned out to be the best decision of the trip. The cool morning air made the uphill walk feel refreshing. When I reached the gates, it was like I had the whole place to myself. St. Vitus Cathedral glowed in the early light, every Gothic detail shining. I wandered with my camera for nearly two hours, completely in the moment.

Then came the part I’ll never forget: an elderly man feeding pigeons gestured for me to join him. We didn’t speak a word, just shared a quiet moment with the birds. No language, just connection. And that view mist over the river, red rooftops stretching forever. I took dozens of photos, but none could capture how it really felt.

Discovering Underground Jazz and Making New Friends

Totally unplanned, I was wandering Old Town at night when I saw a tiny sign that just said “Jazz.” Curiosity won. I followed it down into what felt like a medieval cellar, stone arches, candlelight, and a jazz trio echoing through the space. I meant to stay for one drink. Four hours later, I’d made new friends: Tomáš, who tried to teach me Czech (I failed), a German backpacker with wild stories, and rotating musicians keeping the vibe alive. By 4 AM, we were all climbing back up those old stone steps like we’d known each other forever.

The Astronomical Clock: Timing Makes All the Difference

Like everyone else, I went to see the famous clock at noon, packed in with 200 tourists. The apostles did their thing, cameras clicked, and it was over. But the real magic? That came later. I came back around 6 PM, grabbed a table at a nearby café, ordered goulash and a Czech beer (which is amazing), and waited. As the clock chimed, the golden hour lit up the sky pink and orange behind the spires of Týn Church. The apostles appeared again, but this time felt different. A little girl nearby gasped, eyes wide, chattering to her grandmother in Czech. Her excitement was pure magic. That moment reminded me why I travel: wonder like that never fades.

Charles Bridge: An Unexpected Artistic Collaboration

I arrived at Charles Bridge at sunrise to take photos, only to find a local artist sketching the same scene. We nodded, kept working, and somehow ended up collaborating for two hours with no words, just gestures and shared creativity. Before the crowds came, he gave me one of his sketches. We exchanged info with a mix of pointing and Google Translate. That drawing hangs in my office now as a reminder that art speaks every language.

The Best Pub Experience (Thanks to Bad Weather)

I planned to hit a famous Prague beer hall, but rain led me into a tiny, unmarked pub in Vinohrady, clearly not for tourists. It had eight tables, soccer gear on every wall, and one very kind bartender who gave me a full beer tasting, complete with explanations I barely understood.

Three hours later, I was part of the group. Locals pulled me into conversations using apps and napkin sketches. Pavel, a retired teacher, became my translator. I ended up playing (badly) in their domino game, laughing the whole time. When I left, a few insisted on walking me to the tram. That’s Czech hospitality.

My Secret Sunset Spot

Instead of joining the crowds at Petřín Tower, I took a quiet trail and found a hidden bench behind the old Hunger Wall, just me, the sunset, and a stunning view over Prague. A Czech couple showed up and, instead of me feeling like an intruder, they welcomed me, shared their wine, and their stories. She was an architecture student and pointed out buildings; he gave me tips for next time.

As stars appeared over the castle, they taught me to toast: Na zdraví! We clinked glasses as the city lights came on. The perfect way to end the trip.

Why Prague Gets Under Your Skin

Looking back, my favorite Prague moments weren’t the landmarks, they were the unexpected connections and spontaneous experiences that brought the city to life.

Prague blends old and new in a way that draws people together. The cobblestone streets whisper history, but it’s the warmth of its people that makes new stories. From quiet mornings with pigeons to hidden jazz bars and pub games with strangers, the magic happens when you’re open to it.

Planning Your Own Prague Adventure

Travel with Flighys to Prague, and I’m already dreaming of the next. There’s still so much to see, so many streets to walk, and new friends to meet. Prague doesn’t just show you cool sights, it gives you real moments you’ll never forget. If you travel with Flighys there, here’s my tip: See the big stuff, sure, but also wander. Get lost. Say yes to random plans. The real Prague? It’s not in the guidebooks. It’s in the quiet streets, small cafés, and surprise chats that stay with you. Na zdraví to your own Prague adventures.
